Other answer seems like a sales man to me.

Do you have a regular dentist? If so, ask to borrow one. You don't have to have a top of the line stainless steel one if it is for an assignment. At least I wouldn't think so.

We have tons of plastic ones in my office.

ask your dentist for a spare...or go to nearest dental school..the best ones are used in dental photography.
