are you offended that Jesus Loves you? Did you grow up in a home where love was a bad thing? Are you disgusted at the fact that your creator loves you so much that he sacrificed his only son Jesus, so that you could go free on the day of judgement and all you have to do is trust and obey him?
Are you offended that you are loved?
If you aren't offended, then be grateful the next time someone reminds you of the Love that Christ has for you.

Because some Christians don't really know how else to answer. They think that this solves everything. If saying "Jesus loves you" solves everything, I think people have said it enough for there to be no trouble in the world :P. There may be a time for a such a response, but usually a response like this doesn't penetrate the heart, I don't think.
