Add your information to the national do not call list. This may not get them all but it drastically reduces the amount you do get.

Here's a couple of options:
1. Call your telephone company and ask them to have your number be non-published.
2. Call your telephone company and ask them to place a "Telemarketing block" on your line.
3 Ask the people who are calling to place you on their "do not call list". You can just simply say that you will sue their company if they call you again and hang up. Once you hang up, the person will call their supervisor and they will fill an "irate customer form" and make sure that you are not called again, because they don't know if you really might sue... but you gotta sound very irritated...
4. Add yourself to the national Do Not Call Registry... I believe somebody else already gave you that website...
GOOD LUCK!

get rid of your land line and get an internet phone. Even on the do not call list you still get recorded messages. The phone company also sells your information.
With my internet phone the only people that call are the folks that I've given my number to.

when you get an unwanted call. ask the caller to stay on the line, until you turn off the cooker. then simply lay the phone down on the table and carry on doing what you where doing. leave it for as long as possible , 30 mins or so.then when the caller realises your not interested he will hang up, but until you hang up they cannot make another outgoing call. because until you hang up they dont get a dialing tone....i have reduced nuisance calls by 90%.

Unfortunately it is not possible form ALL of them to stop calling but try enlisting you # from phone books
limiting the amount of surveys etc that requires you to give your # out
answer the calls demand to speak to a supervisor to remove you off the list
I KNOW ITS A PAIN IN THE REAR!!
