Hello, I am 37w5days pregnant. I was told by the doc. two days ago that it could be anyday now because my body is progressing so fast. I went into preterm labor 3 times but I didnt dilate with them..they gave me medicine to stop it so I wouldnt as well. Two days ago after they decided not to stop it anymore I am dilated to 1cm 90%effaced, soft and up-close. I have had a lot of the braxton hicks contractions all day long. Yesterday my mother in-law asked me to go walking with her (because she wants me to go into labor now!) and I said yes so that she didnt throw one of her emotional fits on me. (does anyone really get along with their mother in-law??lol) anyway, we def. overdone it and I started having harder contractions so I finally told her I needed to stop. Last night I had this really sharp pain starting from my belly button and like it rolled down to my pelvic area, bad enough for tears. Was that a real contraction? it only lasted about 10 sec though. Well last night I couldnt.

I was like that...i think everyday i looked for some kind of sign,,i was never sure. But when i decided to just relax and let it be, is when the REAL contractions came. BELIEVE ME....you will know when it is time. They hurt so bad it feels like you barely got a chance to breath before the next one comes. And you cant sit, lay down, and you cant especially walk when they come. They come hard and you want so bad for them to stop.

The pain you are feeling are more than likely ligaments getting looser to prepare for labor. You probably still have 2-3 more weeks. SO try and enjoy the time you have to yourself.

hello, this from first time mom. I think it's a Braxton hicks. Real contractions feel like your belly is being sqeezed and released. last about 10-15 secs. repeats every 5-10 mins then they get closer and longer. good luck with that, wish you well. When in doubt..... call Doctor.

with my first baby i was in labor for 72 hours hard labor .i pushed for three and then i had to have an emergency c section. so just think of it this way it could be worse. lol. labor pains can start in your back or your tummy. (lol) but you will know when its time. the contracitons feel like you are going up a hill with the pain getting worse and worse and then you get to the top and the pain goes down down away. just think of it that way. its helped me get through labor. Good luck and congrats.

I have 3 kids and with my second one I started going into labor on Friday but didn't have him until Monday. very painful. I went to the hospital and they gave me some pain medicine to numb it and something to help me sleep. I think you should go up to the hospital and let them check you out and if everything is okay ask them if they could give you something for the pain and something to help you sleep. May God bless you and I hope everything goes okay. Congratulations!

I have no idea if this will help but I'll try. 15 + years ago I had the Hickups and it ticked me off so I thought about it till I didn't have them again. Till this day when I get the hickups I think about it I stop after no less than 3. Please thing about not having this pain, it may go away. I'm sorry if this don't help but it is all I have. Care care and good luck. You have my well wishes.

you prob over did it. Right before you get ready to go into labor you will get this big burst of energy that you never knew you had. I did that with my daughter and about 12 hrs later I was in labor and having a baby. Just take it easy, you don't want to over exhaust yourself.

Just call your doc and talk to a nurse. That is the only way you will feel comfortable. You probably aren't in labor yet but I for me I always called the doctor just to make myself feel better!

GO TO THE HOSPITAL. Even if you are not in labor, they will check you out and send you home with advice to get some bed rest. Shame on your MIL for "forcing" the baby to come early by walking so much!!! YOU take care of YOU and the baby... and get it checked out!!!
