Have you done a proper controlled experiment to prove this? I can see science students using this hypothesis in their coursework. And I bet Cadbury would fund it. You would need Three groups of kids the same age with no pimples. Feed one group with chocolate one with vanilla and the third with a placibo. Well done I'm sure there must be someone looking for a suitable bit of research - meaningful too.

Thats easy! You dont get Pimples from choclate! Its a myth. You get pimples from high sugar and oily foods, eating bad, not washing your face right. Clogged pores come from Oil amounts, not a Chocolate bar. So dont worry chocolate lovers, eat up! yet watch what youre eating, cause too much can make you unhealthy and sick, causing pimlpes

Chocolate is a mixture of cocoa butter (made from cocoa beans), sugar, cream, and other ingredients. Vanilla is a flavor extracted from a vanilla bean. So why in the world would the nutritive effects of those two items be related in any way?

Actually, it's a myth that chocolate causes acne; it doesn't. And either does greasy food. Acne is caused by increased hormone production in the body. And this occurs during one's teenage years. So, since teens tend to eat alot of junk food--including chocolate--they blame that as the cause, when it is not.

They've done studies that show chocolate does Not give you pimples. Nor does greasy fried food.
It all depends on how much you wash your face (like overwashing can cause overproduction of oil=more pimples), your skin type, and a whole bunch of other factors.

I believe (and I had terrible acne when I was a kid) that the combination of hormones at certain ages, and the stuff you eat, act as kind of an "alergy", and the combination thereof is acne.
I think you can eat chocolate, and not get zits, if you just don't eat a ton of it. Also, soda pop - anything really sugary, but soda pop was a big one for me, I think.

Despite all the tales out there, chocolate does not cause pimples. It's an old wives tale that's fooled a lot of people.

It's not flavors that might cause pimples, it's ingredients. Chocolate is a substance with ingredients. Vanilla is a flavor.
