Hmm......Tell you what i turned too....I went to the doctors because I consider myself to be extremly hygenic, but couldnt get rid of them despite my cleaning regime or drinking lots of water and a good diet. Because spots are caused by a small bacterial infection at the base of a hair folicle, it actually requires antibiotics to effectivly remove them. Now if i seem to need these constantly and im 20, I have been perscribed Oxtetracycline which is a form of penicilin, now i know im a little bit younger, but still i would have thought that i should have been out of the woods too.....its immensly frustrating...but these do work and hold them at bay, litterally you see results within 2 days of taking them and you skin clears really fast. I think if you have tried everything, there is no shame in going to the drs and it will help. Hope you get some results!......I think there are more people in your shoes than you think!
OH.....and one more thing.....I strongly advise that you dont use those cunningly marketed antibacterial wipes or cheap tonics...yes they dont lie, they sometimes remove blemishes...but thats because they litterally strip your face off! It can have damaging effects for post spot skin, e.g. over production of oil. If you flip the box, have you seen how long those names of the chemicals are that are in them? Most are longer than your arm!....what might put you off is the main chemicals found in these pads can also be read on the back of a tin of pain stripper or are even found in Asprin!.......Stick to natural products!

Be consistent meaning wash your face every morning, and night and use a toner and spot treat all acne with cream. You will invest about $20 and 10 minutes a day. Use any three step ACNE regime wash, toner and spot treat do a mask once a week on a clean face drink water take vitamins a e a c and zinc wash your pillow case.

Murad worked a bit better for me than proactive---but it's still not a magic cure. Retin A helps..... I'm still figuring it out myself (and I'm 33~) :( I just went back on the pill and am told if my breakouts are hormonal (which I believe they are) it will help. Also, I used to use foundation/powder that had a sponge applicator and I read that the sponge applicators are full of bacteria---- I just switched to a liquid foundation (using my well washed fingers....) hoping that will help too.

I would go to the dermatologist, but if you don't want to, wash your face three times a day with an anti acne soap. Don't eat too much junk food either.

Watch what you eat. Test foods that affect your skin.
Change your pillow case every two weeks.
Buy make-up that is oil free.
Use light powders that won't clog pores.
Try stridex pads after washing your face to kill bacteria and losen dirt. Only use them once a day though. they will dry out your skin.
Talk to a dermatologist if your acne is serious. You could have a bad bacteria growing on your face.
Wash your face twice a day and moisterize once your face has air dried.

hun, it's natural to have acne. Thought most people go through it when they are in their teen, it's also natural to have it later. so what if you can't try makeup? if ur looking for a guy, it's better to let him see you as u really are instead of glamorizing the real you. Be happy and proud of your skin! Acne never lasts, and i'm sure your case will go away. hang in there!!
