mr cat - Is it when both were young and at the top of their game, and champions? If it is I take Holmes, with that long jab, decent foot work he would out box Big George and win a 15 round decision. If the fight is when they both made comebacks after layoffs I would take Foreman. He was wiser, conserved his energy and picked his spots and still had that tremendous clubbing type punching power. I believe he would win the second scenario by either a TKO or decision over Holmes.

I am saying that this fight is at their prime.
Holmes - W 69 (KO's 43) TF 75 - W pct 92% - KO pct 57% - wins over Witherspoon, Norton, Ali, L. Spinks, Berbick, Mercer, Weaver and Shavers - KO'ed by Tyson (Holmes was 40 years old) - #27 ranked fighter
Good chin/expert boxer
Most people think he was robbed twice when he fought M. Spinks
Foreman - W 76 (KO's 68) TF 81 - W pct 94% - KO pct 84% - wins over Moorer, Chuvalo,Norton, Frazier{2} and Lyle KO'ed by Ali - #9 ranked puncher - #25 ranked fighter
Won 1968 Olympic Gold medal at Hwy wy
Let's say this fight happened after Foreman lost to Ali which means George would not stupidly punch himself out in this bout. Holmes must prove that he has a chin as good as Ali. Foreman never went 15 rds in his whole career. Holmes comes on in the latter rds to preserve a 15 rd close but unanimous decision.

This may be tougher than it appears. The logical answer is Foreman, which may be right. However, we haven't seen anything from Larry Holmes in years (which may be a good thing)
We really don't know what kind of shape either of them is in. Holmes was always kinda the boring and under recognized champion. The bottom line is, he was a very good fighter. Of course, we have seen George step in the ring, even at his advanced age. Something we have not seen from Holmes.

a million. i imagine Foreman wins. Ali and youthful confirmed how Foreman might want to be beat, yet Larry Holmes in my opinion can't do it. Larry has a astonishing jab yet Foreman has a respectable jab. Larry Holmes replaced into knocked down by technique of Earnie Shavers and George is a miles extra constructive finisher than Shavers. Larry will stick that jab in Foreman's face and get out of circumvent for awhile, notwithstanding Foreman received't get drained as there is no rope a dope. Foreman catches Larry in round 10 and knocks him down. Larry receives decrease back up and runs for something of the round attempting to live on. He does yet doesn't completely get better and receives despatched decrease go into reverse in round 11. This time George finishes the job and he sends Holmes down back. Holmes receives up and is met with a Foreman accurate and is going down back. He receives up notwithstanding the ref has seen sufficient and awards George the victory with Holmes protesting. Foreman TKO 11 2.i believe George will win this slightly more durable than the 70s wrestle. by technique of the Nineteen Nineties, Holmes had lost his legs, and it is the reason he replaced into so solid. His boxing skills and 80 one inch attain replaced into nevertheless there, and he replaced into nevertheless risky. Foreman replaced into large in the 90s in spite of the actual incontrovertible truth that slightly slower, and extra reserved. it's going to be a conflict of the jabs early on yet George's will land with extra authority. George has extra means than Holmes does at this degree. Larry digs in deep and tries to outjab Foreman notwithstanding it doesn't paintings. He received't get ko'ed by technique of this Foreman as George lost his killer instinct yet he will lose a call. i imagine this is an in intensity journey with both landing jabs and rights, yet on the top of 12 rounds George has carried out extra to earn the alternative. Foreman UD 12

holmes wins by ko in rds 8-11, Holmes was an excellent boxer, strong chin, was strong could hang on and survive hatd great heart, and excellent stamina, enough power to hurt george , of course big geworge would have went for the ko and for 5 rds it would be close but then holmes would assume command.
