If you left London on the Concord jet airplane at 8 A.M., London time, you would arrive in New York at 6 A.M., New York time. You would have crossed five time zones during your flight. How long did the trip take?

Convert it all to London time
Leave at 8 arrive at (6 + 5) = 11
11 - 8 = 3 hours flight time

You need to find out what the difference is between local time and UTC. As local times change with every timezone, UTC stays the same. Local time in London, for example, is UTC + 1 hour. (during daylightsavingstime), while local time NY is UTC - 4 hours. Now you can do the maths...
