Atheism is not a religion. It is the absence of religion.

When it comes to the deaths of its own people, Christianity is unsurpassed, with its inquisition and the annihilation of the Cathars.

The Cathars were the most democratic and most advanced civilisation in Europe, yet to date, how many people as much as heard of them? To date the church is making sure that it spreads lies about them, like calling them a "sect" and referring to them as "heretics".

For the Truth about the Cathars click on "What is Spirituality" and "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website.

Atheism, through its most visible sub-branch communism/marxism/socialism

Kill tallies for atheists are as follows:
Adolf Hitler, National Socialist - Directly responsible for the deaths of over 60 million worldwide as a result of the Second World War.

Joseph Stalin - Approximately 20 million, including up to 14.5 million needlessly starved to death. At least one million executed for political "offences". At least 9.5 million more deported, exiled or imprisoned in work camps, with many of the estimated five million sent to the 'Gulag Archipelago' never returning alive.

Mao se tung, Marxist - 14 to 20 million deaths from starvation during the 'Great Leap Forward'. Tens of thousands killed and millions of lives ruined during the 'Cultural Revolution'

Pol Pot, Marxist - One to three million (or between a quarter and a third of the country's population).

Kim II Sung - About three million killed in the Korean War. Between 600,000 and one million North Koreans needlessly starved to death due to the economic legacy of Kim's regime. (Some reports claim that as many as three million starved.)

Kim Jong Il - ?
Castro - ?

Christianity, with Islam probably second. Total fatalities attributable to Christianity run into the hundreds of thousands -- a total that was not exceeded until the Hitler killing machines in the prison camps.

That would be Christianity, with Islam coming in a very close second and closing.

Guess which one(s) is responsible for the least? Hint: None of the "big three."

Which religion? Are we talking about religious text or actual statistics?

If were talking about texts, I think Allah and Jahova are in a tie. They both flooded the world and will destroy the world again on judgement day.

As for statistics? No clue, but I've never heard of anyone dieing in the name of Wicca.

That which is opposed to Christ. And it started in the Garden of Eden when Adam ate the apple, and, as a result, died just as God said would happen. Let he who has wisdom understand this.
