This guy at work, bathes in cologne. It gives everyone a headache, but no one has the guts to tell him anything. Plus you can tell it's the cheap cologne. So what can I do?

Oh don't you just hate that...? There was a woman where I worked who would drench herself in perfume. You could smell her coming way before you seen her. Ack!!!

We left an unsigned note in her office mailbox telling her in a nice way that sometimes people don't realize they have too much scent on and that she was one of them. It solved the problem.

I sympathize with you. Perhaps you could try the same thing.

Good luck.

Gather your balls and just tell him nicely. Suggest he spray the cologne in the air and then walk through it, but the amount he's putting on doesn't allow you to appreciate the cologne like it should be.

Any cologne or parfume stinks if you put too much on.

Lots of luck! These people seem to be impervious to anything you say to suggest that they cut back on the foo-foo juice. I've heard the most blatant comments made to no effect. I know of one gal who you could smell 100 ft away through a closed steel door! As soon as she opened her door out in the parking lot, we could smell her coming. It was nice perfume, but, Dear Lord, it was strong! Many comments were made, including 10 guys yelling out "Hi, Jo" before she ever opened the door! She took it as a compliment!
I was in a small casino, and there was a lady that I could smell on the other side of the room. One of her male acquaintances said "Wow! You've got enough perfume on to sink the entire Navy!" and she replied prettily, "Thank you!!"
As I said, Lots of Luck!!!!

Either tell him yourself or go to your supervisor and let them discuss it with him. He needs to made aware that it's a problem for other people and that he needs to stop wearing so much.
