honestly, join the military...
i was an anal retentive person when i was growing up and thought that i was disciplined to the max...i joined the navy when i was 21 and got a rude awakening...boot camp is a short time, but trust me, they will whip your booty into shape within 2 weeks...

I agree with your prior two answers. Joining the military is a good way to gain self-discipline. But there are many other ways like... self motivation or thinking about the outcome of those actions. Like surrounding yourself with very disciplined people (Hope that something rubs off )
But dont just go diving into the military because you need discipline, do your homework on the military first and my best advice to you is to see what makes you happy do you really want this or are you willing to give it up?
(The military, army, marines, navy, airforce... should be thought of as a last resort type of thing. Its hard for someone who has no discipline. Take baby steps. Things will get better)

I have been considering this situation of your for some time now and think, but am not sure, that you should
possibly join, or at least attend some of the meetings of, the Procrastinators Clubs of America. I feel fairly certain that I can obtain an invitation for your attendance if I sit down and write a letter to our local membership committee chairperson when time permits, and our agenda is not to crowded with important issues for debate.
Of course, our Chairperson does have a busy schedule and might not check her mail right away. As a result there could be, in fact, I can almost guarantee that there will be, some delay in her response to my inquiry on your behalf. In view of that, I hesitate to committ to a promise date for your earliest attendance, but look forward to your timely arrival should you elect to make the journey.

lack of self discipline and high smarts are two of the indications for Attention Deficit Disorder... I am not insinuating that you have a mental illness but understanding your behaviors can help you master them... do a search, there are lots of self-tests on line and there's workbooks and self-help books by the dozens... good ones... that can help you if that's the case
that said, I too, suffer from that kind of paralysis... I know what I need to do and I don't do it... I am the President of Procrastinators of America... I don't have time for it but I keep putting off resigning hehe
they say that procrastinators have a perfectionistic streak that "allows" them to put stuff off til they have time to do it perfectly or they are afraid to do something less it come out less than perfect
whatever the case, habits are very easy to make, eh? seems like overnight......... breaking a habit though takes conscious effort... when I need to break one, I keep a journal of the place I got stuck... how long I stayed stuck... how I got unstuck...
takes effort and patience and perseverence.... takes conscious effort to break a habit but that's, to me, at least, all stuff really is... bad habits
as you walk yourself through the process, acknowledge and reward yourself for any tiny step you take... if your history is to put things off til the last minute, even putting them off to the next to the last minute is a call for celebration...
raise the bar every chance you get... today, the next to the last minute... tomorrow take it back two minutes... challenge yourself.... hold yourself to higher standards.... depression can set in big time when it is us that is holding ourself back... get out of your own way :)
best of luck

Honestly, the first thing that comes to mind is to join the armed forces. Every single person that I know that has has lief-long self-discipline and motivation and tremendous self-worth. I have three teen daughters and I hope that they will join, even if just for the minimum time frame. Think about it.

Approach every day with a positive & realistic attitude with a determination to accomplish your daily goals.Try not to set the measuring stick so high that you end up frustrated and discouraged. When you know and feel that it is a right move, go with it and have fun doing it. If you stumble along the way, take a short time out to debrief yourself and continue on untill you accomplish your goal. Good Luck

I agree join the military. If you are young and still in school join the band or get involved in sports. Sports and music gave me lots of self discipline.

I don't recommend murdering others to attain self-discipline.
Do martial arts, it teaches you peace and discipline.
