You get the most important bonus in the world, believe me! You get to avoid Iraq which will destroy your life unless you train to be in the medical field or as a Pilot.
If you don't care for yourself enough to avoid combat in Iraq, then it does not matter how much bonus money you get! However, you could do the same in the Air Force as long as the same two considerations our applied, no medical field work and no flying in an airplane.

Enlistment Bonus Program

Enlistment Bonuses are monetary incentives offered to qualified, non-prior service individuals, who enlist in the Active Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force or Coast Guard in specific Military Occupational Specialties that are deemed critical.

The eligibility criteria are:
High school diploma graduate.
AFQT score of 50 or higher.
Non-prior service.
Must enlist for a period of three or more years.
Jobs that qualify for the Bonus change from year to year as the services look at their manpower requirements and what jobs most need to be filled. Bonuses start as low as $1,000 and can go as high as $12,000, which is the maximum allowable by law. A maximum of $7,000 can be paid in the first installment.
