I'm amazed at all the know-nothings who said they get free medical treatment. You folks listen to too much Rush.
As another poster said, they get a bill like everybody else that doesn't have insurance. In order to qualify for "free" (there's a deductible) medical care, they'd have to sign up for Medicaid, which involves lengthy paperwork and (yes) citizenship/qualifying immigration status checks, so almost NONE sign up for Medicaid (or the equivalent state programs). Most pay cash on the spot, contrary to what some posters have claimed. Those that can't or won't usually don't ever pay, period, and the hospital tries to collect -- but that's not unique to illegal immigrants, well over HALF of all uninsured LEGAL citizens/immigrants who get medical care never pay. THAT is why hospitals are having a hard time.

Any illegal alien who is injured at the boarder gets free medical treatment.

The illegal alien women run across the boarder pregnant and give birth in our Emergency rooms and never pay the bill.

The illegal aliens are using our Hospital Emergency rooms as primary health care facilities. They are bankrupting many hospitals because the never pay the bill.

Additionally, $2.5 BILLION DOLLARS a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens in the U.S.

No they don't pay. That is one of the reasons that illegal immigration is hurting our country. Because they can't be turned away for medical treatment and payment can't be enforced because they don't have any documentation to be turned in for collections we as citizens eat the cost. Higher taxes, higher health care costs, higher health insurance etc.

Have you EVER gone to a Dr. or hospital where they didn't take your billing information BEFORE they treated you?

Of course they would have to pay for treatment.

Think for a moment would you? They're illegal immigrants, they don't pay taxes, they don't pay for medical insurance, and they sure as heck aren't covered by workers comp. Please.
