My 15 month old has had a runny nose for about a week now. She's fine otherwise - great appetite, no diarrhea, no fever. I was wondering if there was cause for concern and do I need to take her to the doctor because of her runny nose.

It might actually be allergies. If she's fine I don't think you need to take her to the doctor. Just keep and extra eye on her.

my son is 15 months old and he has a runny nose this very minute, it has lasted a week too. it is the weather and it is no cause for concern, if it is really bad then give him to tylenol cold(childrens) once a day, but otherwise it is normal. i am giving him meds at night so he can breathe. he is fine. if you are really concern call the doc. if he has no fever dont bring him to the doctors(waste of money) and they would tell you let it run its course.

I wouldnt make a big deal of it. It could be allergies or teething. A clear runny nose is not a big thing at all. However if it is colored (green or yellowish) and has been that way for a few days you can call your doc. However they probably wont prescribe anything for you but putting a humidifier in your childs room.

my son has runny noses constantly, even if he doesnt have any other symptoms....there is no need to be concerned unless she changes drastically, like fever, vomitting, etc....

if you take her to the doctor, he will say its typical for this time of year and may even possibly tell you to get a humidifier...my family uses those through the fall/ winter months and helps alot...

if there was blood in with her runny nose, or something kind of funky looking, them maybe you should get her a check up...

my son has actually had a stuffy nose for 10 days now..he went and got his pre-k physical the other day and i mentioned it to the doctor and he said no worries, jus typical for this time of year

My son started day care ( 3 months now) and has almost had a runny nose since!
Always something to look forward to!

Normal. Just keep an eye on the kid. If the nose doesn't clear up in a couple of weeks, or if she develops a fever, then call the doc.

you could try Dimetapp, Oral Infant Cold Drops. My son started getting cold like symptoms, but then it all went away besides the runny nose so i asked the Pharm. and he told me to use that, and i found it workes really good, actually i am still using it, cuz the runny nose isn't quite cleared up yet!!! it's for babies 0mts.-3 yrs. ...i'd say give it a try!!! Hope this helps you and you Little Girlie!!

She could have allergies or just a slight cold. Unless she develops a fever, sore throat or the mucus becomes yellow or green , just wait it out and buy lots of kleenex!!! If she does develop any of those other symptoms bring her in to a Doc
