God does not want to punish us. He wants to show us when we are right and when we are wrong. God is like a father. That is the best way to explain it. If you have a good father, does he not punish you when you do wrong? It is the same way with God. He wants to help us see the light. He only punishes us to show us right from wrong. (this is very similar to what any good parent would do)

Ask your self, If you keep doing wrong to another brother, does your father who actually loves you, wants to punish you?

God just want you to feel the same pain that you inflicted on others. That is Law of Karma.
He just hopes that at least some day you will realize your mistake....
