During the middle agesin England. there was a type of police officer who was the Iff. Each Shire (county) one.He was sometimes called the shire Iff.

There's no word pronounced like 'sheriff' in Arabic. Did you mean Shereef? well thats a boy's name, it doesn't mean sheriff.

Sheriff comes from the Roman word for Boss. He who is the one you listen to because if you don't he will kick the **** out of you. "Sheriff!"
