I met someone on line and we are having our first date tonight. I am considering presenting her with a bouquet of flowers.

Flowers are always nice but don't over do it. A dozen red roses would be over doing it. Just a bouquet of pretty non rose type flowers will be nice.
However, is this something you would do in a relationship? Are you trying to impress someone by doing something you will stop doing once you are involved?
Don't TRY to impress anyone... just be yourself. If you are "trying" to impress then it won't work. You will just come across as someone who is insecure trying to be impressive.

Might put too much pressure on a first date. One flower would have more impact than something like a bouquet or, god help you, a box of chocolates.

I enjoy receiving flowers ... it's a sweet gesture and shows me the man has a romantic side to him ( or his mommy taught him well ) ... I personally would rather receive flowers after the date ... like the next day at my work or something saying how much fun you had with me and can't wait for the next one ... I guess that's only if we hit it off ... lol ... !

Flowers are a great bonus and it shows that your not cheap and that your thoughtful. Shoot anything a guy buys for a woman is a bonus!! Not saying we're gold diggers, it just shows that you can take care of us girls and treat women like a princess. Ok that is kinda gold digging, just buy her the dang flowers!! =P

most women like flowers period, anytime, but when it comes to a first date, then it shows genuine interest and if makes us feel special that you took the time to go out and get flowers

Not the first date. Get her some on the second date. Then she will know you got them after you met her AND liked her!

It depense on the woman if she likes things bright and colorful she may like flowers.

I'LL TELL U THE WAY I TOLD MY BOYFRIEND, WOMEN LIKE TO FEEL SPECIAL,EVERY MAN- IN A TYPICAL DATE GIVES FLOWERS, GO PICK UP A CARD OR SOMETHING AND TELL HER THANKS FOR ALLOWING YOU TO SPEND TIME WITH HER, SHE WILL MORE THAN LIKELY LOVE THAT GESTURE. IT'S OK TO GIVE HER FLOWERS, JUST DO SOMETHING A LIL BIT DIFFERENT ALONE WITH IT.
