That's an interesting question!
As a science experiement with my class of 10 year olds we voted on which drinks we liked best. I then gave the children sample cups with numbers rather then labels and they had to vote on which drink they prefered without knowing what they really were.

We tested 7 different varieties of cola

The generic homebrand was strongly disliked and described as being almost bitter. Pepsi won by a mile as the most prefered.

I did some research on the idea for the experiment before I carried it out and the info said children are more likely to prefer the Pepsi because it is sweeter but choose coke becuase of their fantastic marketing.

This was true for my students. They all thought I was lying when I told them they had voted for Pepsi.

This also coincides with the complain a lot of adults have about it being 'too syrupy' and coke being 'easier to drink more off'

I took the kids to the coke factory for a tour afterwards and they still had a lot of fun though!
