butter 2 pieces of bread, place 1 slice, butter down in skillet, place 2 slices of cheese, top with other piece of bread butter side up. Cook until brown on both sides. Takes minutes. And even the worst cook can do this!!! OH MY!

I put butter on the outside of the slices only... you don't really need it on the inside. I used to butter both sides but it made the bread kinda soggy. PS... don't turn the heat up too high or you'll burn the bread before the cheese is melted really good.
Butter sprays work too, but they have more preservatives in them... go for good old butter.
BTW that sounds really good, I think I'll have that for lunch too! :)

An easy way to make grilled cheese with no cooking--
Toast two pieces of bread in the toaster
When they are done spread them with butter
Put a piece of cheese inbetween and microwave until the cheese melts!
Tastes yummy and is super easy!

You can use butter, margarine or cooking spray (like Pam) on the sides which face the frying pan or panini maker. Cooking spray works really well because it coats the bread evenly, unlike butter or margarine.
You can also add a slice of ham or turkey to your sandwich... yum!

Butter the outside of the bread and leave the cheese unbuttered on the inside. Too much butter can raise your colestrerol.

Both helps grill faster and allows the cheese to melt better between the bread.

I always just put the butter in the pan, to coat the pan, then when you flip it, you can add more butter if need be. Don't worry, you can't mess up a grilled cheese (unless you burn it, otherwise you're okay).

Both, so the bread doesn't stick to the pan. If you are a really bad cook, you can put the bread in the toaster. When it's done, make the sandwich like you normally would and put it in the microwave for about 20 sec. It's not as good as cooking it on the stove, but it works for little kids that are too young to cook.

No butter! Just hose the outsides of the sandwich with garlic spray. Cooks up the same. I like dipping mine in wasabi mayo.
