sometimes young animals die because there was something wrong with them at birth. try not to be to sad. Maybe getting another kitten would be good for you. I know it's hard when a pet diess but time does heal all wounds and someday you will be able to think of your pet and the cute things it did and not be so sad. For now know that your beloved pet is no longer suffering. I hope you have a supportive parent or other person in your life to give you comfort.

You grieve your heart out.
It doesn't matter how young or how old, sometimes you bond so deeply to an animal that each of their breaths is like one of your own.
Sometimes other people don't get this.
Take a day or two off of work or school if you can, and stay with people that understand how bad this feels. Walk somewhere beautiful, breath, write in your journal if you have one.
One thing I have seen done, which is very beautiful- buy a card, and write a last letter to your kitten in it, all the hopes you had, all the dreams of him living until he was 20, and what you feel. Seal it up. Date the outside and put his name on it. Keep it somewhere safe- there will come a time when you want to look at what you felt, and it will be a little more OK.
Please be gentle to yourself. The loss of a vibrant young life can be devastating, as can the loss of any life, at any age, of any species, human and animal alike.
Peace to you on this hard day.

At least you know that he is dead. I boarded my puppy once and the breeder lost him. I think it was more heartbreaking to not know what happened to him. Most people who have pets love them and consider them family. I would cry a little, talk about it find some acceptance and eventually get another pet, not as a replacement. My pup that I lost was named Memphis and I knew he could never be replaced, but when I got my new puppy, I honored Memphis by naming the new pup Tennessee aka Tenners. I think of little Memphis all the time and pray he ended up with a good family, and not hit by a car somewhere. Take your time, but if you're anything like me, I am just not normal with out a little fur-buddy bouncing around.

Sad, but perhaps comforting?
For a Dead Kitten
Put the rubber mouse away,
Pick the spools up from the floor,
What was velvet shod, and gay,
Will not want them, any more.
What was warm, is strangely cold.
Whence dissolved the little breath?
How could this small body hold
So immense a thing as Death?

I certinly know how you feel honey, I've lost a few of my best friends too. It's not going to be easy. But you will survive, it will take some time though. Just remember all the good times you spent with your little kitty and all the love and care you gave from your heart, and always remember one thing, how lucky your kitty was to have you in it's life. You were the best thing in it's life. So your kitty is just fine, right up there in heaven with mine. (he or she is in very good "Paws" that's for sure. God Bless.

I lost my cat, too like 5 years ago. At first I didn't believe it but I just noticed he didn't wake me up anymore and that I would never see her waiting for me as I changed for school.
I loved her so much you wont believe. I lost her. I buried her in a cementary and I will never forget her. I've had 2 cats after her and I'm doing ok now.

Here is a good web site for those who have lost a loved pet. http://petloss.com/ There is a wonderful poem called 'Rainbow Bridge" that helps out quite a bit in accepting the loss.
Sorry for your loss. :-(

awww, I'm sorry. My kitty died this summer, so I know you are very sad. You just have to be sad for awhile and then eventually you will feel better and maybe you'll be ready to get a new pet.
