What does the Buddhist use as his/her BOOK as there authority? I desire to know so I may obtain it, and study it to practice it as a way of life!! Thank You for your kindness and help.

Try the Tao Te Ching.

It's the oldest text around, 5000 BC. It's written very simply, 81 tenants (brief poems/explanations), very simple, so simple to understand that you usually don't understand it.

One small line from the book...
"When the nation falls into turmoil
patriotism is born."

In my little life, I've read this book many, many times. When I actually learn something from my life, the lesson is in the Tao Te Ching. I think the book is a real important gift for life.

PS-Also, I agree with the previous answer that the Dhammapada is a very worthwhile and important read.

They have a couple of books. I forgot the main book for buddhism, but they also read the i ching(book of changes). And other hindu books for the respect of thier ancestors. Sutra just means book in english. Like how bible is translated to "book of stories" in hebrew and the quran is translated into "the recitation" in arabic.

Spend time with God : Christians spend all their time with God right now in the event that they're actual Christians.despite the fact that they do is for God. i could confess i do no longer study the Bible usual, because of the fact i do no longer choose it to serve God.maximum of my time is taken up asserting the Rosary, reciting the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, Attending Mass and receiving the Eucharist and following the form of Mary's apparitions at Medjugorje. So now you recognize i belong to the extensive-unfold Church wide-unfold via Christ on the beginning up of the Apostles.

This is some good reading. Just read a verse or two and contemplate what they have said.
