Yes I know it doesn't exist anymore, but when I saw the answers to that question I got the impression that not all people already got that information.

It's not a matter of opinion, the answer is no. All of the countries which used to be part of the Soviet Union are now independent nations. The largest of these, by far, is Russia, which people often confuse with the Soviet Union.

No. The Soviet Union become like america - a conglomerate of separate state-like entities. Now that union is dissolved, so which you have many distinctive countries, mutually with Russia. it quite is like if the U. S. ended and you presently had a exceptional form of those separate countries rather of one united states constituted of many states. the U. S. could give up to exist, in simple terms because of the fact the Soviet Union has.

The greatest error the USA made was helping bring down the USSR, now we see what a destabilizing reaction the world had: Yugoslavia broke appart, Iraq in civil war, America under attack, Afganistan producing more opium then ever, N Korea going insance, China becoming world superpower to rival and overtake the US, India and PAkistan in a cold nuclear war, Iran getting nukes. Hopefully Russia will bring about a return to the great Union now Belarus and Kazakstan and many are joining a loose confedaracy. The others will become economially dependent on Russia. The USSR will be back and thank god for it. The USA must stop its imperialist policy and start acting like the USA post WW2 make countries do not brak them

I think there is a strong desire, from the ones that suffer the most, to have a reunited country and socialistic support. And, it does look like the new Russia is pushing a little hard on some freed regimes.....
