As of the late 1970's, home brewing beer once again became legal in the U.S. Federal law makes it legal to brew at home, but states are allowed to regulate the details. Here in Michigan, if you are 21 years old you may home brew up to 100 gallons (or 20 standard 5 gallon home brew batches) in one year. You may not sell your product, but are free to give it to others of legal drinking age.

I brew a lot. While I have brewed a large variety of beers, my personal favorites to brew are I.P.A's, stouts, porters, and fruit infused beers.

You also can make home wine with the same fermenting equipment you use to home brew beer.

No, I have not tried gluten free beer.

In the US, it's legal to brew 100 gallons per year per adult over 21 in the household...this applies to wine and beer (each, not total). The law *says* over 18, but adds that it does not supersede any state law that might be more restrictive, so as *all* 50 states have a minimum drinking age of 21, that covers that.

Personally, I'm fond of brewing hard cider and a nice dark porter or stout.

Never tried gluten-free.

I can brew 500 gallons per year legally. My best batch thus far had to be my double-chocolate, although the alcolhol content was a bit on the low side - I'll spike it with some corn sugar next time. And I can't say I've ever considered gluten-free beer. How much gluten is in a regular beer? You can't concern yourself with such details, worrying is bad for your beer.
