When one takes a stand against Christianity, are they really considering who their argument is with?

Is it with the professed follower or with the founder, Jesus Christ?

EXAMPLES:

If a professed follower is misrepresenting Christ through hate messages or just plain ignorance, then THE ISSUE IS WITH THE FOLLOWER and NOT THE FOUNDER.

however

If a professed Christian is sharing, in love, the truth that Jesus Christ taught and one still hates the message, THEN THE ISSUE IS WITH THE FOUNDER and NOT THE FOLLOWER.

Do you know the difference? Who are you challenging? Christ or the Messenger?

Nope, they don't know. That's why you have to pray the same prayer Jesus prayed on the cross "Father, forgive them , for they know not what they do" amen.

If the messenger is faithfully delivering the message God has given him to give then the person who rejects it is rejecting Jesus Christ.
But I think it would help if you got more spefic about what you are refering to: Do you disagree with a preacher who tells you that are a sinner and that you need salvation? Then your issue is with Christ: Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8
If you dissagree with me you do not offend me or my value system, but you anger God and his value system. God is a God of Love, that is why he gave his only begotten son to die for fallen man. God has provided a way that you can esape the Judgement that is to come, all you have to do is take it.

Good point. I have often wondered why people can't separate out the doctrines of a religion and the people who belong to a religion. They are not the same thing, but yet, most hot heads treat them as the same.

The human way, tho, is to shoot the messenger.

That is why the messenger must forgive, knowing that they are taking on Christ and not him personally.

A lot of people come from different circumstances and such, and Christ knows this more than any of us ever could. That is why we must continually show love and mercy (even tough love).

BOTH! In as much as I was not around to see how everything came into being (and neither were you),I say, "I don't know ..... YET!" To assume that some god, my less than intellectual ancestors made up, instantaneously farted the universe into being, is absurd

have no problem as there is THE DEITY -- GOD THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE SON, THE HOLY GHOST - HOLY SPIRIT. these THREE have awesome powers and THEIR message is still TRUTH and LOVE. very few can argue against these powers can they ?

It's not the Christians, it's the message.
