Kal Ben, Thank you sir, a very interesting article. Although they are boxing experts and I'm not, I hold Hopkins in high stead and would rank him above most of those middleweights they mentioned. For him not to be ranked in the top 20 all time by those writers is a travesty. Interesting point about how he should of moved up to Light Heavyweight earlier in his career. Once again thank you.

letitbeme - great answer, very imaginative about where the bouts would be fought and intreresting results on the trilogy. Monzon did fight a lot in Italy and Monte Carlo and fought only once in the States. Don't you think one of those fights would have to be fought at Luna Park, Buenos Aires, Argentina?

Interesting fight sir! I rank Monzon as the 2nd greatest middleweight (tie with Hagler) behind Sugar Ray Robinson. Hopkins has no doubt proven to be great too as his record clearly shows. Monzon had this big upper body frame with a great left jab and pulverizing right hand he used to defeat many a fine opponent. Hopkins also is a very gifted fighter that also seems to rise to the occasion. I believe that this would be a close fight with many rounds about even. I believe that Monzon wins a close decision over Hopkins.

stable question. Many could rank Monzon because of the fact the appropriate middleweight champion of all time and for stable reason. He ought to field, ought to punch, had a super protection, an iron chin, and a fierce determination to win. He had 89 wins with in basic terms 3 losses and did not lose a combat for with regard to the final 8 years or so of his profession or something like that. He become tall (approximately 6ft) for a middleweight and used his attain to his benefit. Then he could degree you and hit you with pulverizing top arms which he commonly timed completely. Bernard Hopkins is likewise a super fighter and nevertheless he's actual standard as you stated for his shielding prowess, he may additionally bang. Hopkins additionally has an iron chin. i believe that Monzon could keep Hopkins at bay along with his super jab for lots of the combat . Hopkins could have moments whilst he could land some stable photographs yet could never heavily have the bigger and larger Monzon in worry. Monzon could seize Hopkins with some super top arms that should wobble him yet Hopkins could proceed to exist utilising that super protection and stream of his. After 15 rounds of a physically powerful combat, Monzon is asserted the winner by utilising unanimous determination.

Brent - You are a boxing expert.

Hopkins - W 47 (KO's 31) TF 53 - W pct 87% - KO pct 59% - wins over Tarver, De La Hoya, W. Joppy and Trinidad - KO'ed by none - #50 ranked fighter - very unorthodox
Titles at 160 and 175
In 2004 voted as #1 ranked pound 4 pound current fighter

Monzon - W 87 (KO's 57) TF 100 - W pct 87% - KO pct 57% - wins over Benvenuti [2], Griffin{2}, Napoles, Valdez[2] and Briscoe - KO'ed by none - #40 ranked puncher - #11 ranked fighter

Both fighters were never KO'ed. Hopkins was a counter puncher and very seldom would force a fight. In this fight, Monzon by a unanimous just like he won twice over Rodrigo Valdez.

very even matchup, i can easily see going the distance and a split decision too close to call, monzon a little more flash might have persuaded judges his way, in a 3 fight series monzon by split descion in italy, hopkins by unaminous decision in las vegas in fight 2 and the rubber match in new jersey a draw with ringsiders seeing monzon a close winner.
