Why are aborigines treated like recent immigrants in their own country australia? ........?
It use to be DIMA (Department of immigration and multicultural affairs) but not it is DIMIA (Department of immigration, multicultural and indigenous affairs). Why are the aborigines treated like immigrants in their own land Australia? You know the history how the aboriginies were treated!

I post this here as it has to do with morality!

Time ponderer you have much to learn about multiculturalism before using that word! Why is paddington called "WHITE CITY"? Learn from other cultures before you shoot your mouth off. Australiua has only had NON-White influence for the last 28 years. (1977 change in white only policy)It is still racist at heart!

mans inhumanity to man and the power of those who have little or no respect to the Ancient Ones and their heritage in my opinion.

I answered your bigoted question but I'll answer it again:

Because two departments were merged - DIMA and the Department of Indigenous Affairs. I guess because both are to do with issues of multiculturalism. The titles actually a big boost for aborigines as they are less than 1% of the population and "multicultural" refers to 40% of the population.

For your information, multicultural doesn't mean immigrants - we have a proud multicultural society.

edit - Yes I know all about multiculturalism, I'm an Australian and I'm 28. And I've never heard of "Paddington" sounds like a tiny suburb somewhere. We've had a non-white influence for 40,000 years. You don't know me, hence your generalisations are racist.

All men are created equal...in america...yet we had slaves and took land from the indians. God didn't make them a coward. If you are a christian our job is to teach, preach gospel and treat all men as unto the Lord. You are right it has to do with morality...but is the government there operating out of morality or taking advatange of the situtation?

I don't know.

Guess its sort of the same reason inwhich aboriginals have always been treated by the Governments in North America(both in Canada & the USA).

Because we can't go back and change what is done. And no one has answers for what we are supposed to do now. So we go on with our lives.
Sounds to me like they just blended two government departments. Which usually happens for monetary reasons.

White man in America hundreds of years ago treated the Native American's like crap. It doesn't surprise me theres natives treated like crap now in another country. I guess u could put this as Euripians are invaders and surpressers since the pilgrims came from a Euripian country.

Hehe, are you calling me chicken?
I didn't answer because I don't know, and I really hate to just answer "I don't know", cause it seems like I'm just answering to get points, and I'm not =)
I have friends in Australia though, and next time I talk to them, I will ask.

Good question. Here in Argentina, and in many Latin American countries, it's the same.
