He has no hobbies to speak of, he is a laid back guy. He is the president of our little company and just looking for something to give him from the company to say "Thanks". For Admin day (which we are not) he just takes us 2 females out to a nice lunch.

Find out what his favorite candy is and buy a bunch of it - put it in a fancy jar. If he likes something fun like suckers or a specific candy bar - that makes it even cuter. Another idea would be to get him a gift certificate at a nice restuarant for him to take his wife or a date to. My husband gets those alot and we appreciate it - gives us a chance to get out together. Good luck!

That's really nice of him to take you both out on Admin day, whether you are are aren't. Some bosses never acknowledge their employees.

I think the idea about the candy in the jar was a good one. It's inexpensive, something he'll enjoy and something that shows him you are thoughtful and appreciate him, too.

You can go to Target with 10-15 dollars and get a nice glass candy dish and a bag or two of candy. If you don't know his favorite kind of candy, just get him a bag or two of those assorted Hershey miniatures, pretty much everybody likes those.

If you can't afford to spend more than $10 on something for him, then ask the other lady you work with if she wants to put some money together with yours and you could by him a restaurant gift card or a voucher for tickets to the movies.

A nice engraved business card holder or pen. I don't know if they have them by you, but there's a store out here called Things Remembered. They have a really nice selection of customizable gifts, and they do the engraving for you right in the store and it only takes like an hour.

I'd go with a paperweight or a business card holder if he doesn't have these already.

Another thing would be a gift certificate for either him or if he has a significant other, to a nice restaurant.

A gift on Boss Day? um...personally, I wouldn't bother. I would prefer do something nice (cake and decorations) on his birthday, or christmas.

As for lunch on "Admin/Secretary day" you can always say no if you "are not". I think he does it because he appreciates your assistance in whatever capacity you think you are.

Bake him a cake if he likes sweets. If not, I once gave a boss a business card holder for his pocket or briefcase and had his initials engraved on it.

If he drinks coffee, the best is to get him a Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks card with like 25 bucks on it. I LOVE getting those!!!
