Yes. Truth is NOT absolute. We collectively decide what to accept as truth in our various societies and cultures, over a historical timescale. Societies also create ideals of beauty (so a very slim female body shape that is ideal today would have been seen as ugly and emaciated in the eighteenth century - and in some contemporarty cultures).
The decision about what is 'true' is never made, once and for all, either. That's why we have debates such as creationism/darwinism or at what point a foetus becomes a person.
There will always be power struggles over 'truth'. We can try to make these real, by going to war over it, or we can as Prof Hawking suggested "keep talking".

Well, one flaw in that idea is that most things that are beautiful are here today and gone tomorrow.
And beauty really isn't something that can sustain a human being - but it can point to the truth if a person will open the heart to allow it.
Things can have a ring to it that's so close to the truth, and only time walking it out will reveal whether it pans out to be true or not. If it has a satisfying ring that hits dead-center on the inside and fills all the being and stands the test of time proving itself to be true again and again, then you know you've found it.

Truth is not relative. Truth is things as they were, as they are, and as they will be. People can misunderstand how things were or how they are, but the fact remains. No amount of human speculation can change reality, we are not that powerful. To assume that truth is whatever you want it to be, or whatever you think it should be is human arrogance and isn't based in reality.

There is only one truth
Either there is a God or there isn't
Either we go to heaven when we die or we don't
Either we were created or we weren't
Either Jesus existed or he didn't
If he did exist - either he is God or he isn't
Truth is absolute - it cannot be just a matter of viewpoint
If you want to know what the truth of the bible says - please email me :)

I should hope not. Truth is absolute. Beauty is absolutely subjective. God* forbid I should happen to 'find' some truth on Y!A R&S, for example...

The only truth that is essential for humankind to know is contained in the Bible. All else is either lies, speculations or illusions.

what is true for you may not be true for me and what may be true for me may not be true to you. the same as beauty as what I think beautiful you may not and what you believe to be beautiful I may not. there are very few things which can be considered absolute truth. one of these absolute truths is this " all that is born must die ".
