Every day, people talk about religion (oh my god, god bless you...) all islamic things on the news... but what is the deal with religion?
How can women stay behind those covers all day long? How can people not eat during the day light for a month?
I just don't understand how people can be guided by textes wrote thousands of year ago, their just like a dog on a leash!
Isn't religion just something that seperates people even more then they already are???

yes i find it hard to understand how ppl can actually follow a religion....but at the same time...they find it hard to understand how ppl like us can not...
its all about faith...preference...what feels right for a person..
i have a very religious father....and i can never agree with him...my brother doesnt believe in God so yea you can tell how many disagreements they've had...

Religion was intended to unite people. Mans sinful nature messed it up. We are separated because of our lack of ability to accept the word of God as the truth. People didn't like what God was telling them so they started their own religion. Was what God telling them wrong, no they didn't want to give up what they think is best for themselves. I don't find anything in the Bible that instructs me to live a life that I don't agree with. It's surprising how much sense Jesus's teaching make in today's society. People think there outdated, there not. There basic moral principals to live by. People just want to think their to sophisticated and advanced for such antiquated teachings. The teaching of the Bible are really the only ones worth learning.

Religion is a delusion. Delusions are bad. It's better to live in the real world. Forty three percent of Americans belive that a zombie is going to return to life sometime within the next 50 years and destroy the world. Hello! How can you not be scared shitless. These people vote. These people hold office. One of these people has a finger on the button.
If he werent delusional he wouldnt do things like stopping research that can cure diseases (if the world is going to end in less than fifty years who cares), easing environmental regulations causing more pollution ( if the world is going to end in less than fifty years who cares), starting wars ( if the world is going to end in less than fifty years who cares), starting wars in the mid-east (there has to be war in the mid-east for the war that will destroy the world to begin). Its some scary **** people. Throw off your delusions and join the rational people who don't belive in scary sky monsters that murder children. We hope one day you'll join us, and the world will live in peace.

Why should what anyone else does bother you so much?
Just because they are different from you does not make them bad. Firemen and policemen make sacrifices for us every day. Religious fasting is of the same ilk. So why is it ok to be a cop, but not ok to be devout in one's faith?
Do firemen divide us? No. Only bigotry does. Dislike of a person for who they are, who they worship, how they dress, what they eat, where they came from. That divides us.
Accept them. If you can't, then just leave them be.

The fundamental truth about religion is to teach yourself about the inner light (Truth) within you. Naturally, when you able to perceive `the inner you' you will have already found the wisdom and true happiness.

I am Catholic. I love my religion and respect most others too. Religion brings comfort to its followers and gives them a moral code. There is only one religion which I believe is causing problems and that is Islam which preaches violence and hatred.
