A woman from Albania was tired of working for $150 a month, which was barely enough to pay her rent and take care of her family. She decided to come to US to work. A work visa was impossible to get, so she opted for a tourist visa. Of course, as always that was denied , too, and a corrupted clerk at the US embassy in Tirana told her she can get a visa only if she paid $15,000 under the ta. She asked friends and relatives for a loan and eventually collected this outrageous amount after many months. Now she is here and had to work 3 jobs just to pay back her loan. I know other people from all over the world who also had to pay THOUSANDS of $$$ just to get here. Her story brought me to tears, she hasn't seen her child for 3 years now... She calls every day and cries on the phone, unable to take her here, unable to go back, for she'd have to pay another $15,000. If coming here is impossible in a legal way, why are you surprised people overstay their visas? Would you work for $150 a month

It's a real story! The fact you don't want to accept the truth means you are just a lazy, spoilt, silly fat a$$. All of you are legal ONLY because you were popped out here. You don't deserve anything, least of all US citizenship.

It is absolutely ridicules...my husband is from tirana, born and raised, and he moved here 5 years ago, when he was 18 as a foreign exchange student...without his brother, mother and father...we recently visited Albania, it was the first time he had gone home in 4 years, and it was a hallmark moment to say the least...it is almost impossible for his parents and bro to come and visit us in America..even for weddings. His mother has a four year degree, and only makes 200 dollars a month, as an accountant..how unfair...everything is corrupt in the government there, they just came out of Communism in 1990, so they are still rebuilding, and unfortunately, due to the uneasy times after 1990, people do not follow rules, and everything is very corrupt you can literally get away with murder with some money...I was also there in Jan 2006, and they were building an overpass in tirana, (to better the city, and make it more passable) well, the city govt ordered the overpass be torn down, wasting so much money because they didn't have proper approval..this didn't make any sense to me because you would think that they would all want to make their city better, regardless of how it got that way.. i mean, there is corruption for all of the bad, why not the good? ya know...fyi..there are more Albanians abroad than in their own country..
i cant believe some of the people that commented on this question...to the idiot that said it is irresposible to have children with 150 a month...THAT IS ALL SHE CAN MAKE! thats what you get with a COLLEGE education there!
you are all a bunch of ignorant red neck lame excuses for americans...do the research before you comment like you know dumb***....those people are wonderful, and kind, and hold our county, and our people on a pedestal..i was treated like royalty there, they (most of them) are poor, and would give you the shirt off their back...dont be a hater

If there's corrupt people in the immigration system that did that to her......they should be fired and charged with extortion. And I don't
doubt there are. If there's "reform" needed it can start with stuff like that. Yes, there are people that have gone through the system properly and are still waiting years to get their spouse and children here. There's still people waiting from the last amnesty to be legal. There is no doubt the system is broken. This needs to be fixed.
What so many aren't getting is ,you can't just go to this country ,or any other one, just because you want to. No country HAS to take everyone that wants to come there. Not us, not France or Australia or Canada or Russia or anyplace else. They ALL have rules of some sort. Some are easier and some aren't. It's NOT a free ride or a guarentee in any of them. There's a price to pay whether you do it legally or illegally. Sometimes the answer is just NO. Please don't think I don't feel for these people because I do. If something is terribly wrong in your country then fix it. Every single nation has had a period of wealth and riches and also of poverty. Everybody can't go country jumping when theirs is in trouble. The country pulls it's self out, by the people that stay and fight for it. When you fight long and hard enough to bring it up, then maybe people would understand why we fight so hard to protect what we have.
What's the point to fight and die for something when you're just expected to hand it over? Just because someone wants it now? We as a nation aid more countries than anyone. As a people we donate more money to organizations to help people in other countries. Oh and granted there are corrupt stops on the way from people and governments that make sure they scrape off their share before the people that were ment to get it ever do. But we can't fix the world....part of it they are going to have to fix themselves.

If she is from Albania, it would have been much easier for her to immigrate legal (or go for Asyl ) in an European Country . Like Montenegro , Serbia, Mazedonia or Greece. All this countries are Neighbour Countries to Albania . Some of them are Members of the EU and the Salary is much higher then 150 $ . She should have plan her Life better . Of course i am sorry for her and understand her pain . I really can not understand why she went all the way to the USA .Especially that she left her kids back there.
But she must have her reasons ...i wish her the best

specific, it could 'quite take place'. in case you stick a finger into somebody's pooper, there is typically poop interior the pooper and that is felt. Albeit, I doubt we've the journey in sensitivity on the tip of our pinkies to parent poop from popular moistness, so there is possibly a huge margin for blunders. So quite we can't enable you understand because of fact we weren't feeling around interior your pooper: he become. He must be paranoid and imagining issues, or you basically might have had an entire super gut. If that 'ruins the 2d' I recommend you tell him that next time you do the 'shocker' you do no longer want him to remark if he believes he's touching feces. For his attention, i could recommend going to the washroom and showering formerly.

Every action has a reaction. What did she expect to happen when she came to the states illegally? What job was she working? How much is she making now? Where is her husband in on all of this? Why was she denied those visas? Did she report the clerk? YES, you have to pay a lot of money to go from one country to another. (When moving, is there ever a time when you DON'T have to?) If this story is coming from a website somewhere, let's see the link..... Also, as much as we want to think so, we can't help every illegal immigrant with a sob story because it sounds like the right thing to do.

Look at it this way, when you are doing anything illegal, such as buying and selling marijuana, you are paying a premium because there are risks involved for all those who contribute to the crime. The fact that she paid $15,000 doesn't bring me to tears. She had a choice. In America, you couldn't live on $150 a month, but in other countries, it's a wonderful life if you make that much.
Don't patronize us because we believe that we have laws in this country for a reason. What if you broke whatever law just because you felt like it? Quite frankly, all people break laws because it "leads to a better life". When people steal, they are stealing to get money to make a better life for themselves.
If someone walked into your house and stole your t.v. and their story was they had to care for their children because they couldn't get a job and pay for childcare, would you feel so sad? Would it bring you to tears? Would you open your door to ask them to stay so that they can live better? Probably not. You'd probably call the police and have them arrested and take your t.v. back. I don't understand how people wouldn't be willing to lend such a hand to the people in this country, when the illegal immigrants are doing the same thing as this.
What if the police told you that they were struggling, so it's ok, they can have your t.v., and they promise not to do it again? Would you be ok with that?

They have no idea how hard it is for people to get here, and they do not understand how difficult life is in many other countries which is why we have immigrants.

That's as good an example of the whole immigration 'business' becoming a corrupt, fraudulent enterprise. Maybe there needs to be a 10-20 year moratorium on immigration in order to get it all sorted out....

Well, i dont agree with it in her case because she applie for a visa first, which is what you should do. Perhaps it is the price you pay for living here. Freedom isnt free, i suppose (in a strictly non-war sense.)
No I would not work for 150.00 a month, nor would any other AMERICAN. Thats just it, she is from Albania...ahem...freakin Albania.
My HS french teacher was denied a work visa to return to the US...they had to replace him becuase the US embassy in France would not grant him one...and he was here previously. Funny, huh? Thats GW for ya!
