The Yaris is the "better" car in most ways.
More powerful engine options are available and it is more spacious, probably slightly safer in an accident due to its greater mass, more refined and has higher equipment levels.
However, all this means it is slight less fuel efficient, slightly larger on the outside (to the detriment of parking in tight spaces) and more expensive.
It depends what you need from a car, and how much you can afford, as to which is best for your needs.

Yaris because it's larger and more powerful. I think the Aygo has a 1.4 or 1.5 liter engine while the Yaris is 1.6.

The Yaris, mainly because it won't blow away in a strong breeze!
I've test-driven the last model and the new model when looking for a new car for my gf, and they are both really easy to drive, have excellent all-round visibility (I reversed the new one into the parking bay at the showroom just using mirrors!!)
Go for as big an engine as you can afford, smaller ones will have you brewing a cup of tea while you wait for them to accelerate.
Best advice though is to test drive both cars and make your own decision - it's you that will have to drive it!

it somewhat is an excellent little motor vehicle. could sounds like overpriced on the start look. yet element in the undeniable fact that it somewhat is a toyota and it will final longer without hassle, it somewhat is a decrease priced motor vehicle to own and run for the long-term. Oh and once you're arranged for a diverse motor vehicle, you will get a effective ask your self in terms of toyota's resale value.

Look at the (lack of) boot space in both models. Toyota are great cars (I drive an Avensis), but the small models seem expensive for what they are. Check out the Honda Jazz (also expensive) for greater practicality and even better reliability. Honda dealers also have incredible finance rates if you push them hard enough.

HONDA FIT, bigger, more versatile, same fuel economy, more fun to drive.
If you live in Europe get a Opel GTC
