like Australia send 200 people back in a leaky boat? Should India put landmines on all it's borders?
Australia is very underpopulated and has 5 times as much land as india and 1/50th the population! The govt. of australia even pays it's residents to have children like the first home owners grant and much more!

When is this "trying to keep a white majority" policy going to stop?

Time ponderer please don't try to mislead people! Most of your population was born overseas. Until the time of Menzies 1977 Australia had a "White only" immigration policy! You cannot expect that to change over 28 years! Even if laws have changed Australia is still acist at heart with it's majority white population "that still serves the queen". Don't tell me what or what not to believe, i lived for 8 years in Australia!

India, a place that has 1/6th of the world's population.... has its priorities straight. Help those who need it. The rest of the world fears economic crisis if faced with a sudden influx of immigration/refugee sheltering. It would cause inflation, off kilter trading, illegal employment. Plus a huge drain on welfare supllies, which most want to use for their own poor/indigent population

Australia and Canada take more immigrants and refugees, per head of population, than any other countries on earth!!, far far outstripping India, and have done for a long time. We don't have to!! We choose to. 20% of our population was born overseas (all over the world) and another 20% are the children of imigrant(s). It's as much as we can take in to out society. Most of Australia is desert. We have an ageing population - what do you suggest that we take young children immigrants and not their parents!! And the home-buyers grant ran for a few years to offset the new GST Tax.

Why are sooo many Indians on here so racist and bigotted towards Australia??? I used to like you guys.

edit - you're the one misleading people mate. You don't have a clue, your mind is too clouded by hateful bigotry. Do some basic research - there's a thing called the internet.

I don't think this is an R&S question.

However, I would guess that some of the factors are: 1) India's close relationship with Bangladesh since it broke from Pakistan, 2) A shared language, 3) Their immediate proximity.

Plus the points you make above. I mean, you're not wrong but there are more practical reasons too.
