My brother is addicted to wrestling (as in WWE.) He sits around all day looking up little known facts about wrestlers and wrestling events. He knows way too much about wrestling. He knows WWF, WWE, WCW, NWA, AWA, WCCW, ECW, and anyother organization. I think he is obsessed with wrestling and wrestlers. Should I stage an intervention?

Yes he likes to do moves on me. He sometime acts like a wrestler in public. It's really embarrassing.

He refers to him self in the third person all the time. He told my coworkers he was the best intercontinental champion of all time. They all think he is some sort of freak now. They think I approve of this behavior.

My Brother would do the same thing about what ever he got into. He obsessed in an almost unhealthy way. He knew every football player in the NFL. He wasn't a football fan just obsessed. He memorized the declaration of Independence. He would do this about different things he got into.
Here is the good news. He got a Fulbright scholarship and a PHD from Berkley because he trained his mind to be so totally thorough. Today He heads up US Aid in many foreign country's.
So Your brother will find another addiction soon. Just as long as it is not drugs or religion.

With an addiction, intervention does not work until a person hits their bottom. You cannot change him, and you will only drive yourself nuts if you try. Probably he is trying to look cool to himself & others by being an "expert" with something. OK, so it isn't "normal"., whatever that means. It's probably not an addiction, either. Quite probably he will outgrow this thing, or do it in another direction. If he doesn't, it is HIS life.
Now, about you. Let him be him, & get on with your life. As long as he sees you are upset about his bahavior, he will continue to "push your buttons". Stay away as much as possible. He is being a bully; make it clear this is unacceptable behavoir. & do not make empty threats.: If you say you will do something about it, follow through & do it.
This little prayer helps me a lot:
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can, &
the wisdom to know the difference.
Good luck to you. Your question reminded me of what I need to do with situation I am in. Thanx.

Addictions are sometimes willfully pursued, regardless of what facts are presented. You should make sure he doesn't just want to escape from the apparent meaninglessness of life before you follow any course of outside intervention.
Look on the bright side: at least he isn't a liberal.

There isn't much you can do. Just stay away from him when he gets into that "wrestling mode" so he doesn't hurt you. Don't let him do the moves on you. As long as he is attending school/work on a regular basis, there is nothing wrong with him.

It's fine to be passionate about certain things i.e. sports but when it becomes an issue and when that's all that person wants to do it becomes a problem! Why don't you suggest you and your brother go do an activity together?? Does he ever hang out with friends? Is he in school or does he work...try to get him involved in a hobby! Either way, you need to see what's up and why he is so involved in this. Tell him it's awesome he's so interested in it- but tell him hey why don't you try to learn to do it yourself? Take classes, get involved, meet new people! You definitely need to do something ;) Thanks~

I have a friend that is "metro" thats right "metro" growing up he was a little off but now he's the guy who gets pedicures done and worries about his hair, shops for clothes at the mall, owns 30 pairs of shoes. Now mind you, he's not gay, in fact he gets more women (although nasty women) than I do. But going anywhere with him is painful, he acts like a fag and guilt by association makes me look like a homo too. kinda like your situation, your brother looks like a retard in public. Thats not a guess, its a fact. Acting like that silly soap opera (wwe) makes him look retarded to everyone. I stopped going anywhere with my "metro" friend because its to much to handle being around what appears to be a guy who thinks he's a chick. I would suggest you too, stop hanging around your brother if you feel like he's making you look like a retard in the process. I'd even tell him "I'm not going to go anywhere with you if you're going to act like a retard"

Nothing as long as he is not harmful to himself or others you should be okay with his addiction
Does he work and pay bill ? If so just let him be
Have you ever asked him if he wants wrestling to be his career
