Old school technology, heavier metal used in construction, easier to maintain, parts are plentiful and for instance a power brake master on a newer vehicle would cost a wad of money where as one for the truck would be about $45-$65……….for starters.
I would get it if I were you!

Well one good thing about it is you have a truck. If your just thinking about getting a truck because it is a truck then I would look at something a little more economical like a ranger or Toyota. the 84 f150 351 Windsor motor was terribly under powered for a truck of it's size. and the gas mileage was not all that good (Around 18 on the highway 13 in the city) If your getting it to do a lot of hauling I would consider something a little newer. if you want it just to have it in the event that you need to haul something from time to time great go for it. I have a 83 Chev S10 pickup that I use mostly for yard clean up and to haul mulch in the spring time. other then that she sits in the garage waiting for something to happen. So I would take in to consideration what you are going to be using it for. Daily driver I would find something else. Part time hauler it would make a great truck.

if it's 4 wheel drive, it's a great deal. If it's 2 wheel drive it's still a good deal if the truck isn't all ate up with rust

The price should be good and insurance shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg....and most of all it was made in the USA so no money left our shores...
