Dried food is devoid of live enzymes and water, it's all been dehydrated out of it. Your digestive system has to rely solely on whatever digestive enzymes it can create to digest the dried food. You're best to balance out dry food with some fresh food that still has living enzymes and can help the digestive process. And up your fluid intake. :)

Because the dried food is harder to digest and stays in your stomach longer forming gas.
