God created us not to disown us or throw us away to wander in the wilderness of the universe. It is just like a mother who gives birth to a child and does NOT want to part with it. In fact God's relationship of love with His creations is much much more closer and full of love than the relationship between a mother and her child.
So God has always kept the contact alive with His creation, the human beings AND He would always maintain that contact. He will NEVER disown his creatures, as this would be against His dignity and honour as a Creator. He keeps the contact through various means to include spoken word (with his prophets),and through other, lesser means like dreams and many more conscious/ sub-conscious states of mind, with other people. Of course He does not contact through His own handwritten word simply because He does not have any "hands" of the type that we know of.

I believe in God, but I don't believe in the bible. The bible was written and VERY edited by humans (specifically men) and humans have never been known for the honesty or unbiased opinions.

With that said, I have to agree with the answer before: He speaks to us in every way OTHER than written word.

Considering that gender is only needed to continue our line on earth. God is neither man nor woman. God does not need to recreate, he is the creator.

We use the male gender when speaking of God because it is easier for us as humans to say he when speaking of God, but we do know that God has no gender.

Yes, Gods written word is how he speaks to us, its how we come to know and understand what he wants from us.

He gave us all we need to know and understand in his word and there is nothing more that he will add to it.

Man will continue to try and add to it and take away from it, just as they have done throughout known history.

God stays the same, men are who try to change God and mold him into their image instead of the other way around.

God speaks to me in written word every time I read the Bible. He also speaks to me when I ask. He definitely wasn't finished because the Bible was completed. He lives in all of us everyday.
You may not understand, but I hope I answered your question.

God does not speak in written word. He speaks through spoken word or through His reflections of different types.

The bible is god's word? Why would a god have man write the bible for him, interrupt it for him, spread the word for him? Seems like not much of a god to me. Seems more like he doesn't exist or if he does exist he is very lazy.

We don't have any written word from God, just a heavily edited and mucked about with selection of anonymous pieces of writing, more likely to be the word of Bob than God.
