There are at least seven towns or villages in the UK called Ireland. One each on the Shetland and Orkney Isles so these cannot be reached by road without the use of a ferry.

The others are in:

Angus, Scotland
Befordshire, England
Shropshire, England
Wiltshire, England
Powys, Wales

The can all be reached by car alone. Interestingly the Ireland in Scotland is located only a few hundred yards from Rome.

Depending on where you set out from and where you aim for as got alot to do with the actual final destination. However if you were unlucky and did'nt hit or land on a ferry you would probably end up in the Irish Sea.
