You need to talk to a doctor NOW. Don't put it off. If the doctor is not helping, contact a different one. There are people out there who care about you. Depression is often a physical ailment..a result of hormones or chemicals in the brain being off balanced. Sometimes a little of the correct medication will do wonders. You should also go to a mental health clinic and see how some therapy there would also help you. You will find you are not the only one suffering from this type of problem, and you can support each other as you find your way back to health. Don't listen to those who say depression doesn't exist. Perhaps it doesn't exist in their own bodies, but if you are thinking about killing yourself, it obviously is evident in yours. Good luck. I care!

hello i have been where u are now and its not nice i understand where ur coming from. trust me there is such a thing a depression and it sounds like u have it i would first suggest u go and see ur gp to maybe make someone on the proffeional side aware of how ur feeling right now they can help u in so many ways. its really not worth ending it all it may seem rubbish for u now but there will come a time when u will have ur happyness again it might not seem like that right now but it will come. i think talking to ur sisters boyfriend is not helping u as he does not understand u. its hard for someone who has never felt like this to understand why and how this happens. there will be light at the end of the tunnel in the end u have just got to talk to the right person who knows how to help u i hope things get better for u good luck x

For starters: Depression is REAL & can be very dibilitating & anyone who thinks otherwise is someone who just doesn't understand.
Second: DO NOT rationalize this thought of suicide as not many people care. Even if it FEELS LIKE only YOU care about YOU then that is enough reason to find a way & live to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Then you will see more people care about you than just you. If both your legs were broke, they would have more empathy... they just don't see visible signs... so they think you must not be all that sick, they are WRONG... don't let their lack of compassion get to you
Third: Some health problems & the medications that treat them have side-effects of feeling suicidal.. please be honest with yourself & your doctor to find a better solution for you.. In addition, Couseling paired with the right medication can help you & provide you with "an umbrella, to help you get out of the rain"
Fourth: I share with you a piece of wisdom that a very old woman shared with me... I was 28 & had cancer, found out I had cancer within a year of being violently raped & was really questioning why all this could happen to me....
Keep this with you all the time.. I am 40 now & struggling with a myriad of health problems.. when I get down, it helps get me thru the tough times:
@@@ "We are like tea bags intended for God's cup of tea... those that he wants to be stronger, he keeps in hotter water longer" @@@@
Another suggestion: A great book that I have read many, many times "Undoing Depression"

Depresson is not all in ur head it is the resault of stress, poor health and sometimes abuse mental or physical.Find a good friend or a good doctor they can help u vent what u are feeling and help to find answers.Killing ur self is not an answer,I have poor health and dealth with depression for over 15 years.when I get to stressed out my health gets worse, that is the time to take some time for u to find something or someone that gives u hope love and joy.It is not easy but u can do it u need to spoil ur self.most people ex family have no idea what u are talking about. look for support groups of people that are there or have been there.deal with it do not hide it u need help it just doesn't go away

Amanda...please don't kill yourself. I bet there are people out there who do care and love you. You need to stay away from your sister's boyfriend and most definitely don't talk to him about t because he will just ridicule you. Obviously you don't really want to die since you are here crying out for help. Please contact the crisis hotlines others have mentioned. You might also consider going to God in prayer with your problems.
There is such a thing as depression. I went through it, still am sort of because my mom passed away a year ago.

Talk to god. Ask him for help. He will. Good things come in time. There is no reason good enough to take your own life. Are you prepared for the afterlife if you do? Do you know what awaits you? Do you know your path in life? Life is what you make of it.

This is great church. I listen to the sermons online a lot and they help me find direction and happyness in life. Listen to the sermons.
Enjoy your short time here on earth, don't end it. There is so much beauty! If your environment is causing you pain and taking you in the wrong direction, leave it. If you are searching for the right path in life, god will help you get there. It may not be easy at times, but have faith.
good luck. If you need help you can email me

You poor dear. I have perosonal experience with suicidal tendancies, mostly due to health probs, so here goes:
First, do no harm (for right now anyway)
2nd, stop talking to anyone who doesn't believe you, or who is belittleing you or your feelings
3rd, Make sure you're getting enough solid, deep sleep (preferrably un-medicated sleep--which will allow you to dream
4th, do whatever you can to feel healthier, eat, sleep, exercise, all that good stuff
5th, Seek professional help if you can afford it--physical & mental
6th email me via this site if you wanna talk.
And Hang-in there--you never know what the sunrise will bring.

Stop being so short sided and selfish!
You would just cause most of the people in your life tremendous guilt and pain if you did something like that. I find that the best way to snap out of depression, is to consider someone other than YOURSELF! Think about those who have it worse, think about those who would be blessed to have the life you so blatantly disregard.
It is very manipulative to threaten suicide. Especially when all you have to do is get help. Most of your problems ARE in your head... in the sense that we alone have the power to manifest our own destiny. You get, exactly what you put into your own existence. If you need help focusing your energies and maneuvering past your own roadblocks... They have professionals for that.
So take responsibility for yourself and quit forcing people to deal with you by manipulation. It is cruel and wrong to do that to people who love you. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get off your as*s and do something to change it!

Amanda, please seek advice from someone other than this idiot your sister dates. He is completely clueless. I have battled major cronic depression all my life. There IS such a thing as depression. It is caused by an imbalance of chemicals in your brain. Helping the depression is as easy as taking one little pill every morning. my medication does not effect me in any way, except that it takes away the "I am worthless and everyone hates me" feeling. Get professional help sweetheart. Depression is a disease that can be treated. Your Doctor can help you. Mine helped me.

Nothing and I mean nothing is worth taking your life over. If you are unhappy then you need to seek medical help fast. They can give you meds and therapy that will help you through this difficult time in your life. It won't be this bad forever. You can change your life if you truly want to. You just have to be honest with yourself and take all the necessary steps to move forward. Trust me there are more people in this world that care than you think. And your life is more important than you realize.
