I mean the Bible, with all its internal contradictions and poorly written passages is in serious need of a good editor.

Why would God allow this to represent His word?

I doubt very much that it was ALLOWED by any god or gods. The bible was conceived and written by man. Just because they want you to believe it's the word of some god does not make it so.

the bible wasn't written by God, it was men. There are also other "books" of the time which weren't put into the christian bible...they only went with John, peter, etc. Most importantly though, God gave us free will. Even you can write about God and get followers, or go against God. God gives this free will as a gift and as a test (some would say). But wait...there's the Old testament too. But theres ancient books on other even larger religions. Ohh and worst of all...the bible is a written account, collected and written years after Jesus, then translated...how much was lost there..we don't know. PS...check out the dead sea scrolls.

The smallest of all the seeds yeilds the greatest of all the harvest.

God's preferred method of operating (or MO) is to show Himself great through the small, the weak, the mild, the humble and the poor

If you talk to just about any preach/minister or evan if you just read the Bible, youll see He works great things through those who arnt just saved but are probably the last people the others woust think something great would come out of

1Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

In such a huge book, re-told and re-written for almost 2,000 years, there are bound to be plenty of contradictions.

God has preserved His Word through centuries. If you don't understand it, then you need to learn. If not, too bad for you.

I've been reading the Bible for over 20 years. Please show me these contradictions that you are referring to. I've found none thus far. Can you prove me wrong?
