1. You must not hold out hope of getting back together, you cannot get over someone if you still think there is a chance.
2. Cut off all contact with him until you are over him.. Every time you see him and speak to him it will hurt afresh and take you back a few steps.
3. When you meet someone else you will be over him instantly but this is much easier said than done.
4. If you can, go and spend some money on yourself, hair, new make-up, new clothes to cheer you up a bit.
5. DO NOT listen to sad songs, they do not help! Get some happy songs.
6. Spend some time with some other single people, rediscover how much fun it is to go out when you're seingle and anything could happen.
Good luck, I know it hurts like hell.

Try to break any connection you still might have with him (the same social circle, same places you used to hang out ...) because they continously remind you of him and the time spent together, thus resurrecting your pain for the loss and preventing the healing... Get with your friends (seek out the ones you haven't seen in a while) and do stuff with them... Keep yourself busy: find yourself a new hobby, get into reading -- just fill up the time and keep focusing on some activity you used to like... Stay away from relationships for the time being...
And don't expect any miracles; these things only heal in time -- faster for some, slower for others... I know it's hard, but try as much as possible and have fun, try to remember who you were before meeting him... Take care !

Start by not spending time writing about him. Go out and have fun with friends. If you don't have friends, buy some at the liquor store and drown your sorrows for a night. Impportant to not do this every night, that becomes a problem. You need closure. My suggestions to my friend have been eitherget blasted one night or get in a huge raging fight with the person one final time. Even if its for no reason. My efforts have been successful for three of my friends. Good luck

Maybe if you allow yourself to give him a small corner of your heart but not all of it, you will find someone new that will soon take over your whole heart again. Don't expect to ever forget him, just plan to live without him. Warm regards. PS. It might be better not to discuss him with new dates because they won't understand and they will think the wrong things maybe.

You have to move on. Start going out or whatever it is that you do for fun. Don't dwell on him anymore. It was for a reason you two are not together. Which can be beneficial to you later on down the line. Go out and meet new people.

The fastest way and IMO best way is to get busy with your life and ignore everything else. Delve into work, hobbies, friends, parties. Don't sit and mope around it only makes it worse. Oh and if all possible date alot but keep it to dating and don't get physicaly involved.

You cry your eyes out, then pick yourself up and move on, each day gets better. One day, you can smile because it happened (the relationship) and enjoy what's to come with a little more life experience behind you.

Bottle it up and swallow it. Find something else to occupy your thought space. A new hobby perhaps.
Times heals all, great and small.
*Speaking proper English may lead to longer lasting relationships.
