Women have been rabbis for many years. Gays and lesbians are also included and welcomed.

Actually there are many women rabbis. And some women have become priests in the Episcopal Church as well.

I think the main obstacle to women becoming Catholic priests is tradition. Jesus called only men as His first Apostles and disciples to spread the Good News. This was probably because of the culture at the time.
Maybe one day there will be women priests. It can happen. It is not a doctrine or dogma of the Catholic Church, only a very well entrenched tradition.

A long standing tradition that men are the teachers of God. While I disagree with this (I wanted to be a priest when I was kid. Talk about a let down), I highly doubt that 2000 years of thinking (more for Judaism) will change quickly. Who knows, maybe in the future, there will be. Some Christian dominations have women preachers.

In some religions and cultures they can. But mostly frequently it is actually because either they believe that women must be eternally lesser since eve partook of the forbidden fruit and got adam to also, or because it is believed that because the woman has the power to reproduce, which is greater than the power of the priesthood, men will be set to fulfill this position.
In some cultures it is simply because they are simply fascist and shovenistic cultures that believe that they should not empower women such as areas of the middle east and so on.

Hi - Women can become rabbis. At my temple we have a women head rabbi, a women assistant rabbi, and a women cantor. And one of the three is openly gay.
Reform Jews are, generally speaking, open minded about such things.

There is a verse somewhere in the Bible that says something along the lines of "a woman shall not have authority over a man." I'm not sure if that's exactly what it says, or if it even says exactly that message, but it says something along those lines. Their rationale is that, if a woman is a minister of any kind, she is possessing authority over men, which is wrong.
So...by that logic, I guess it is a sin for a man to get a job in which he has a female supervisor.

Because male leaders are egotistical jerks that are scared to admit that women can be better than they are. Think about it. If we had a female president, would we be at war? Probably not since she might find another way around it if she could.
