I choose based on what my family likes. And most of the time there is a good selection to choose from.

I have a 22 month old who loves her fruit, a little cake here and there is fine and will do no harm. Most cakes, besides chocolate or vanilla, have some fruit flavor options so it's easy to pick one she would like. There's always the back-up option too, ice cream cake! Very few kids will say no to that.

None. Eating cake is BAD for you. Cake is only for birthdays or special occasions only. You don't want your kids to be diabetic do you? Teach them that a lot of sweets is no good in the long run.
