Gosh darn, that was a waste of 300 BILLION dollars.
How would $300 Billion look if it were $100 bills stacked in a pile ?
This pile is 125 feet wide, 200 feet deep, and 450 feet tall.
450 feet is the height of a 38-story building. It's the hieght of the Millenium Wheel in London. It is also the height of the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas and the Louisiana State Capitol Building.
If you were to stack the money in a single stack, your stack would be 19,887 miles tall, enough to wrap the Moon at its equator almost 3 times.

Well, it was nice being a world power while it lasted. I will then start stocking up on ammo and food and build a nice safe bunker for the coming war with the jihadis who will then invade America and Europe, having been immeasurably emboldened and encouraged by our defeat and the chickensh*t government that ran our brave soldiers home and left chaos and calamity in the muddled east. A world power defeated by a savage immoral band of rag tag little sheet headed psychothug fundamentalist wackos. The blood bath that will ensue in Iraq when we scurry home will make the one in Viet Nam (over a million murdered) look like a Sunday School picnic. There is a proud legacy to brag to your kids and grandkids about!!

I find it ironic that you wish to compare the Iraq war to WWII. Some 53,000 US service men and women perished during WWII, while so far less than 3,000 US service men and women have perished in Iraq. WWII required the draft where as Iraq has been fought with a volunteer military. Most Americans supported the war effort in WWII, as the attack on Pearl Harbor strengthened US resolve. The same cannot be said about Iraq.
Hence, no comparison between the two wars. Incidentally, I would have prefered that we didn't go to war with Iraq, as the resources wasted on that effort could've been far better used here in this country. Not to mention the loss of life.
Oh, and one more thing, Chuck makes a good point.

The only way for the US to "lose" the war in Iraq would be for Iraq to invade the US and take over complete control of the country. That isn't going to happen.
Pulling out of an impossible-to-win situation is not losing, but it can be a hard decision for someone who cannot admit to failure and the need to change strategy.
A far greater risk would be for us to forego our Constitution under the guise of "security". That would give a clear "win" to the terrorists -- and they're well positioned to do just that!
"Those who would give up essential liberties for added security deserve neither liberty nor security." -Ben Franklin.
Anyone who does not understand what that quote means simply doesn't have a clue what being an AMERICAN truly means!

What are you talking about in case you didn't hear the Iraqi army fell apart or were destroyed. Now I suppose you are talking about the terrorists winning HMMMMMMMMMMM let me think well even more of them are dying than our troops and I guess you will say we are killing innocent civilians. Well that is because many of those innocent civilians were terrorists just minutes before they got killed or were hiding among women and children because they are cowards. No we won't kill them all but we certainly didn't lose. You are just a product of Al Jezera media trying to make people think something that isn't true. The terrorists are cowards and not man enough to stand up and fight but instead shoot from Mosques and hide with women and children. They are faceless and nameless cowards. I think maybe you should go live with them. The only shame will be if too many Americans listen to twits like you.

What war?
Oh, you must mean the shameless occupation of a sovereign nation by the United states?
I support our troops. Some of them anyways. The one's that are just men and women like you and me doing their jobs. This is what they get paid to do.
I don't support the guy who signs up and straps a gun to his chest just to get the chance to shoot someone. The kind of guy who shoots children off of a roof and claims he saw a gun it their hands. The kind of solider that rapes a 14 year old girl and then kills her and her family. The kind of solider that tortures POW's just to get a laugh. When that kind of solider comes home he should be spit on.
But the example is being set at the top, monkey see, monkey do. When these backwoods idiots see their president lie to lead his country into a groundless "war", when they see him ignore the United Nations and his own congress and shed all accountability for his actions...what are they to think? What kind of example is being set? It sends the message that if you want to do something, you just do it. You don't have to have a reason, make one up....you don't have to be abide by rules and regulations set forth by a counsel formed by your own country.....you are above the law and can make the rules up as you go. Your power is absolute.
This is what happens when an administration of war criminals leads an army of undereducated rednecks.

Gee, I thought we had ousted Saddam from power. Apperently that trial thing is a big scam and he is just pretending to be in court. We have already won that. What we are struggling with is getting their government started up due to insurgent attacks, terrorist, and those pacifistic, peace loving Muslims who accidently keep murdering not only our soldiers but more importantly, themselves. "I so sowwy, I did not mean du stup on du wocket launcha". As far as I am concerned, the Arabs and Persians are lucky I am not the President. I would have turned the country over to the Kurds.

Hopefully we learned our lesson from Vietnam and won't blame the servicemen and women. They are just doing their job the best they can given the terrible situation our government has placed them in. We should honor their sacrifices and treat them with respect whatever our political leanings or feelings about the war.
As far as our current administration goes - I would have to say I told you so. No one who lived through the Vietnam War era did not see this coming. Our current president is arrogant and is totally ignorant when it comes to understanding the cultures and politics of other countries. His tunnel-vision is beyond belief.

Erudite, huh?
Let's see (forgive me if we've covered this before); you're:
1- Sixteen years old,
2 - Living at home with mommy and daddy,
3 - Getting truly lousy grades considering your potential,
4 - Spending most of your time alone (read: no friends),
5 - Are very unhappy,
6 - Refuse to take your anti-depressants even though that makes your erections last longer (no girlfriend),
7 - Are whiling away a good deal of your time hanging out on Yahoo Answers, and
8 - Will not, under any circumstances, get a life.
Pretty good, huh? :-))
