it is the OM symbol, it has no meaning per se, but is a root sound that is said to be the first sound made when the universe was created & one of the sounds that still echoes in the universe and within all of us. ( think, "in the beginning was the word & the word was God...)

As I understand, it means 'Aum', which is the 'holy syllable' to be repeated during meditation.

It's also pretty damned cool looking, and I didn't know it was part of the Unicode set!
