I want to know what is the history behind the skelton head symbol that is now being printed on clothing. My son is interested in wearing this fashion but I have concerns about the true meaning behind this image. I want to know if it is link with satin at all. You know I donot want the devil in my home and I am very strict about what spirits I allow in my home? Please help me out?

It is mostly just something that teenagers are wearing who are into skating, tatooing etc.........And no it's not made of satin its screen printed. Just kidding I know what you ment. Let him wear it it's just a fashion fad for kids,they think that they are cool!

Is it satin, sure satin feels really soft. Oh, you mean Satanic! Ohh, I couldn't understand. Well, if you truely don't want your son to wear it tell him that that is not the right way to show what he believes. Just tell him that wer like that is inappropriate. That's all. I am as well strict on what auras and vibes and spirits come to my home as well, and I wouldn't permit anyone to come into my house and a that sort of fashion.
That fashion is that of modern day gothic, I suggest you tell him not to wear it just because he may look cool.

Your home actually has it's own spirits, so unless you move out of it, you'll have them anyways. They're called Disir, and they're also female fertility spirits. Women, hearth, home....you get the picture. But if you live outside, you have to come to terms with the landvaettir - spirits of the earth/land, etc.
I'd recommend worrying more about his soul than what he's wearing. The healthiest teenagers emotionally have parents that do this.
And as someone who not only collects skulls (in art/clothing/jewelry only. I'd never do that to someone's ancestor!) AND lives in an old funeral home, I can assure you that you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Um, it's just a picture on an article of clothing. It's angsty and "omg gawth". If Hot Topic carries it, its meaning has been cheapened to the point of meaninglessness. Which is why it depresses me that they carry so many Pagan and Wiccan symbols. *sigh*
And satin is a fabric. The name for the so-called "devil" is Satan.

I really don't know that is a great question. But I do know that anything with frogs, owls, and mask hold spirits. When I found this out I went through my house and removed them. Its some others things but I cant remember what they are. My son knows that I don't allow anythings with those items in my house.

The skeleton or skull is merely a symbol of death or mortality. It has absolutely nothing to do with Satan and has been used by artists of all religions and none since the dawn of civilisation.

It was used by pirates on some of their flags. there is no Satan! evil is what you make it to be. So chill out. but it is you house. hey at least he ain't stealing and doing heroin or crack.

Normally it is printed on cotton not satin.

Satin? No, I think it's rayon, or maybe a cotton/polyester blend.
