I want to know what is the history behind the skelton head symbol that is now being printed on clothing. My son is interested in wearing this fashion but I have concerns about the true meaning behind this image. I want to know if it is link with satin at all. You know I donot want the devil in my home and I am very strict about what spirits I allow in my home? Please help me out?

Is it satin?? No I've seen it on cotton and other materials too! LOL!

I think you are asking if it represents SATAN. As for that, I couldn't tell you. The "pirate" look seems to have become a fashion trend somehow. Maybe "Pirates of the Carribean" are to blame.

As far as I know it is a sign that something is deadly, likely to cause or capable of causing death. Now get this. If somebody wants to twist or see something into things they will see what they fear. My daughter says it started as a symbol for Dia de los Mortes (in Latin cultures) or the Day of the Dead (translated) This day is one of the many origins to Holloween but they use the day to honor their dead ancertors.

First of all Satan (not satin) does not exist. It is a figment of man's imagination.

If your referring to the Skull & Crossbones symbol, I believe it represents poison.

How ever. These are not the only translations of he Skull. I would spend some time with an actual Symbologist to figure it out. best wishes.

LOL. Actually I prefer silk over satin. I really dislike satin sheets because the covers slide off.

Um... it's just a design. You don't have to worry about "spirits" or whatever. It has more to do with pirates than with your imaginary spook.
