I would try Dr. Divx it is free and makes so many conversions that I have never had one yet that failed. If that doesn't work I have also used movieencoder before it is another software you can get for free if you look for it. good luck, aren't movie files the best.

Oh and if neither of the previous work try using p2p or a torrent client to get a already made divX version that will save you the trouble of encoding it yourself

As a VCD contains computer files, simple create a directory and copy all the files from the VCD into the directory. To play it, just point your favorite video player to the directory (do a file > open) rather than to the CD drive and it will play the movie.

you want DVD+R 's or DVD-R 's to burn an actually dvd that performs on your known dvd participant. IT does no longer remember - or + . or you could in basic terms burn the actually movie document onto a CD which does no longer require a DVD burner. yet this won't play on your standard DVD participant. So it honestly relies upon on in case you p.c. to burn a DVD or in basic terms the movie records. And confident you could have a DVD burner to burn a dvd. A cd burner does no longer burn DVDs.
