Yields about 1/2 cup
INGREDIENTS:
1/3 cup white or rice vinegar
4 TB brown sugar
1 TB ketchup
1 tsp soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 4 teaspoons water
PREPARATION:
Mix the vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce together and bring to a boil in a small pot. Mix together the cornstarch and water, add to the other ingredients and stir to thicken.
(If desired, you can add 1 green pepper, cut into chunks, and pineapple chunks as desired after adding the cornstarch
For a thicker sauce, increase the cornstarch to 4 teaspoons while keeping the water constant.)

1/2 pint chicken stock
1 tbsp worchester sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp white wine vinegar
2 tbsp tomato puree
1 small can of chopped pineapple including the juice.
Make sure you toss your meat in seasoned flour before cooking it. Combine the ingredients above in a jug first and then add to the meat once you've browned it off. The cooked flour will make the sauce thicken.
This makes the best sweet and sour ever. It's so easy you'll never want to go back to using jars of sauce again.

Yes just made this
1 cup water
3 teaspoons cornflour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons vinegar or rice vinegar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Put the lot in a pan except the cornflour.
Boil.
Add the cornflour.
Eat.
I use honey instead of sugar (need much less, just add to taste).
I also added carrot batons, a few slices of onion and red peppers.

1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained
3 tablespoons cornstarch
DIRECTIONS
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix together water, distilled white vinegar, white sugar, tomato paste, pineapple tidbits and cornstarch. Cook, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes, or until mixture reaches desired color and consistency.

it depends on what flavor profile you are looking for, and what you plan to use the sauce on.
for example:
chicken may use soy sauce and pineapple for a base if it were an oriental flavor profile,
however you could also use a ketchup base for chicken and achieve a more backyard barbecue flavor profile.
Perhaps you should be more specific towards what you are looking for and a better recipe could be provided.

Easy Peasy and smashing,
2 tablespoons of Ginger marmalade,
2 tablespoons of Orange marmalde,
2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup,
3 Tablespoons of wine vinager,
Put all in a liquidizer untill smooth, it keeps in the fridge for months and is the best we have every had, you can heat it in a microwave, in a pan gently or eat it cold.

To be fair, i've never found it worthwhile cooking your own when you can have a big tub of it for £1 from the takeaway... specifically the Emporer's Garden in Liskeard. That's stunning food, there. And they always give me a free bag of prawn crackers with every telephone order I place. Bless 'em.

ketchup, vinegar, sugar is the easiest recipe although there are some that will tell you to use chicken broth, marin, etc...
That's the basic sauce. Use cornstarch for thickening agent.
