In my opinion, the best cat to get is any one from your local shelter, because they're so desperate for homes. Other than that, decide between long hair and short hair. Also, Siamese cats are very loud and "talkative".

Always pick a homeless cat. You are caring for God's creatures. Besides I've found they are the sweetest and so happy to be loved!

A shelter cat or one from a rescue home. Don't buy one because there are so many good kitties that need homes that are in shelters.

a stuffed cat, because you dont need to feed it, take it to the vet, it wont tear up anything in the house and your house wont smell like cat pee. or adopt a stray kitten, that is what we did and they are great kittys.
