Lemme guess....you sent a money gram or western union deposit to them for "insurance" right? A friend of mine fell for this scam. I don't know how much money you just lost probably around $700 considering the amount of the loan, but it's gone. You will never hear anything from that company again.
You should never have to pay money to get money. If they have your banking information you need to close that account immediately and report the company to the FTC. Most of these scammers are based out of Canada and they rip off hundreds of thousands of dollars from Americans every year.

As you have figured out, this was a BIG mistake. If you want to get out of debt, go to this site: http://daveramsey.com/. On the right side of the home page, you will find a column called "trusted services" and the first link is "financial counseling." Click on that and you can find someone in your local area that you can call for financial counseling. If you're not quite ready for that, Dave Ramsey's book, The Total Money Makeover, is incredible. You should be able to find it at your local library. In the meantime, surf around Dave's site a bit and read some of the info there. You can also listen to his radio show online. You won't find any "quick and easy" solutions - but you will learn how to get out of debt and STAY out of debt. Good luck!

They "approved" your loan based on the deposit you gave them. This may be one of those banks that offers a line of credit from your bank account. So actually you did not get anything. Try a home based business to get more money. Email me if you want more info.

Call the Harvard Business School. They might want to write you up for a case study in Suckernomics 101.

You sent them a deposit. Huh.
Well, you can kiss that money goodbye.
You NEVER NEVER NEVER have to put up money out of your pocket to get a loan.

sounds like you just got yourself more debt.... if you can stop payment on the check that would be good - but its sounds like a scam if they are not responding to your attempts to reach them.....
